The same prep every consignment car gets.
Adam's Motors sells collector cars on Bring a Trailer. Auction photography is the most unforgiving light a car will ever sit in - every swirl, every wash scratch, every hazy headlight shows up at full resolution in front of thousands of enthusiasts who know exactly what they are looking at. So we built a detailing operation good enough to survive that, and then we opened it to everyone.
That standard has two halves. The first is correction: getting the paint that is already on the car to look the way it did when it left the factory. We wash and decontaminate, measure the clear coat, test a section, and then machine polish in stages - a cutting stage to remove defects, a refining stage to restore clarity and depth. Done properly, correction does not add anything to the car. It takes away the damage that has accumulated on top of paint that was fine all along, which is why a correctly corrected finish looks deep rather than glossy in a plastic way.
The second half is protection. Corrected paint that goes back into daily life unprotected starts collecting the same defects again within weeks. A ceramic coating installed on top of corrected paint gives you a hard, slick, hydrophobic surface that resists UV fade, water spotting, bug and bird etching, and the light marring that comes with ordinary washing. It also makes maintenance far easier - dirt releases instead of clinging, and a maintenance wash takes a fraction of the effort.
Everything in between is method. We hand wash every car, every time, with the two-bucket method, grit guards, and clean microfiber mitts. No brushes. No automatic tunnels. No shared, gritty wash media working its way around the car. Automated equipment is fast and it is the single most common cause of the swirl marks people pay us to remove, so we do not use it on anything.
We use Adam's Polishes professional products exclusively - the car care line Adam founded in 2000. That is not a sponsorship arrangement. It means the products on our shelf are ones we have used for decades and understand at a level most shops never reach with the bulk chemicals they buy on price.
Whether it is a daily driver you want to stop being embarrassed by or a six-figure collectible headed to auction, the standard is the same. The scope changes; the care does not.
Why owners trust us with their cars.
100% hand wash
Two-bucket method, microfiber mitts, pH-neutral soap. We don't use brushes or tunnels - they're the leading cause of swirl marks.

What the work actually involves
Scope is built around your car and what you want out of it - a maintenance detail, a full correction and coating, or something between. Every level uses the same method and the same products.
100% hand wash
Two-bucket method, pH-neutral soap, clean microfiber mitts, and a separate set of tools for the lower panels and wheels. No brushes, no automatic tunnels, no shared wash mitt dragging grit across your paint. Every car is dried with plush microfiber and filtered air so nothing touches the finish harder than it has to.
Full decontamination
Clay bar and iron fallout remover pull embedded rail dust, brake dust, overspray, and road film out of the clear coat. This is the step that makes paint feel like glass again, and it is mandatory before any correction or coating work. Skipping it is how shops grind contamination into paint.
Multi-stage paint correction
We measure the paint, test a section, then cut and refine in stages until the swirls, wash marks, and haze are gone and the original color is doing the work again. Correction is machine polishing with judgment behind it - we remove defects, not clear coat, and we tell you honestly when a defect should be left alone.
Ceramic coating for protection
Once the paint is right, we install a ceramic coating so it stays right. The coating adds a hard, slick, hydrophobic layer that resists UV fade, bug etching, and water spotting, and it makes routine washing dramatically easier. This is the finishing step on nearly every consignment car we prepare.
Wheels, tires, and wheel wells
Wheels cleaned face and barrel wherever they can be reached safely, calipers wiped down, tires cleaned and dressed to a factory satin rather than a greasy shine, and wheel wells refreshed. These are the corners buyers photograph and most washes ignore.
Interior detail
Vacuum, compressed air through the seams, surface cleaning, glass inside and out, leather cleaned and conditioned, plastics and trim brought back to an even matte. Deeper work - steam extraction, carpet shampoo, odor neutralization, leather repair coordination - is available and quoted to the car.
From first call to keys back in your hand
No packages to decode and no upsell script. We look at the car, tell you what it needs, and quote the work.
Walkaround and honest assessment
We look at the car in good light, check paint depth where it matters, and tell you what is realistically achievable. Some finishes need one polishing stage. Some need three. Some original paint is thin enough that the right answer is to protect what is there rather than chase every scratch.
Free pickup anywhere in the Treasure Valley
We come to you in Eagle, Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Star, Kuna, or Garden City, and we bring the car back when the work is finished. Pickup and delivery is included, not an add-on. Most customers never make the drive to the shop.
Wash, decontamination, and correction
Everything happens in a controlled indoor space with proper lighting, because you cannot fix what you cannot see. Correction work is checked panel by panel under multiple light sources before we call it done.
Coating, interior, and final inspection
Coating is installed and left to cure properly. Interior work is finished last so nothing gets tracked back in. Then the car gets a final inspection walk with the same eyes that will photograph a six-figure collectible next week.
Pair detailing with protection - or with a sale.
A great detail is the foundation. Lock the finish in with a ceramic coating, or put the same prep to work selling the car.
Lock in the finish with a ceramic coating
Installed over corrected paint: hydrophobic, UV-resistant, and far easier to keep clean.

Yes, and it is free anywhere in the Treasure Valley - Boise, Eagle, Meridian, Nampa, Star, Kuna, and the surrounding areas. We come get the vehicle and return it when the work is complete. If you would rather drop off, our shop is at 9049 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Eagle, ID 83616.
Most owners do a maintenance detail every four to eight weeks and a full detail once or twice a year. A car with corrected paint and a ceramic coating needs decontamination far less often, but it still benefits from a proper hand wash on a regular schedule - that is what keeps the coating performing the way it should.
Adam's Polishes professional products exclusively, top to bottom. That is the line Adam founded in 2000, so we know exactly how every soap, polish, and coating in it behaves on real paint. Premium chemistry, premium tools, no shortcuts and no mystery bulk product.
Automatic tunnels and stiff brushes are the leading cause of swirl marks and wash-induced scratching. We wash every car by hand using the two-bucket method with grit guards, dedicated microfiber mitts, and separate tools for the dirtiest areas. It takes longer and it is the only method we will use on a customer's car.
Adam's Motors is a Bring a Trailer Local Partner and has been selling collector cars on BaT since October 2015. Every car we consign goes through this exact detailing standard before it is photographed and listed, because auction photos are unforgiving. When you book a detail, you are buying the same prep work we put into cars that sell at auction.
Both, held to the same standard. A commuter with 90,000 miles gets the same wash method, the same products, and the same attention as a numbers-matching collectible. The scope of the work changes with the car and your goals; the standard does not.
A maintenance detail is usually a same-day service. Multi-stage paint correction and ceramic coating typically take one to several days depending on the condition of the paint and the coating's cure time. We give you a realistic turnaround when we quote the job, and we would rather quote honestly than rush a coating.
Pricing depends on the size and condition of the vehicle and the level of correction it needs, so every detail is quoted after we see the car or good photos of it. Call (208) 501-2111 or send us a note through the contact form and we will get you a straight answer.
Let's get your car looking right.
Every detail is quoted to the car, and pickup and delivery anywhere in the Treasure Valley is included.
